By itself, ISA Server 2004 supports a wide variety of client access mechanisms and contains a rich feature set from the server side alone. Through the use of software-less client access such as with the SecureNAT client and the Web Proxy client, ISA can secure network traffic and provide for caching and reverse proxy capabilities right out of the box.In addition to these capabilities, ISA also supports the deployment of the full ISA Firewall Client, which provides unprecedented control over a firewall environment, allowing for per-user configuration and login mechanisms, complex protocol support, and Winsock application support. The addition of the Firewall client to an ISA Server 2004 environment provides additional value-added functionality without the need for additional licensing.
