The Status of the Teachers
Our Prophet Muhammad (S.
A.)
tells us: "I am the
teacher of the people and I give
them lessons in religion."
Imam Ali (a.s.) tells us:
"Rise from your place in respect
for your father and your teacher."
The Fourth Imam, Imam Zain al-'Abidin (a.s.), tells us:
"A teacher has certain rights over
his students:
First- that the students treat
their teacher with great
respect.
Second- that they listen carefully
to what he says.
Third- that they constantly face
towards him.
Fourth- that their wits are totally
engaged in learning the
lesson.
Fifth- that they appreciate and
are thankful for their
lesson."
We follow all this guidance.
We
like our teacher, we
respect him, and we know that,
like our parents, he has many
rights over us.
