Marking up documents

The document can also be marked up with tools from the Drawing Markups toolbar. These enable you to draw circles and other shapes to make the comment more precise. Probably the most natural way to make comments on a printed paper is to take a pen and to scribble away. Acrobat's Pencil tool is the equivalent for marking up PDF documents.

1.

If necessary, choose Comments > Show Drawing Markups Toolbar. Select the Pencil tool from the pop-up menu in the Drawing Markups toolbar.

2.

With the Pencil tool, draw a big circle around the entire text block on the left. Then draw a little arrow indicating that this block should move further to the left.

3.

Use the Note tool, click next to the arrow, and then type Move text block 1 inch to left in the pop-up window to provide more details. (See illustration on next page.)

4.

Finally, had you received this PDF as an email attachment as part of an email-based review, you could simply click Send Comments in the Commenting toolbar (Comments > Show Commenting Toolbar) to send you comments back to the initiator of the review.

Note

The Send Comments button does not appear on the Commenting toolbar when you are working with an untracked PDF document.
