Windows and Macintosh fonts come with a wealth of special characters called glyphs, but they are usually accessible only with special codes or shortcuts. Plus, not all fonts support all glyphs. Similarly, the Mac OS and Windows support different glyphs. This makes it important to use the same symbol fonts on both platforms and to be sure that you know the glyphs you use are available in all the fonts you use.
