Image editing
InDesign CS lets you easily open a graphics program to edit placed images from within InDesign. Hold Option or Alt and then double-click the image. InDesign will then launch the program that created the graphic; if you don't own that program, InDesign will launch a compatible program if you have one. For example, if you Option+double-click or Alt+double-click an EPS file in your layout that was created in Adobe Illustrator, but you use Macromedia FreeHand instead, InDesign will launch FreeHand on your system.
Strokes and paths
Several Stroke pane options are new to InDesign CS: the Gap Color and Gap Tint fields and the Align Stroke options.New to InDesign CS is the ability to create your own custom dashes, dotted lines, and stripes. You do so in the Strokes pane, by choosing Stroke Styles from the palette menu.
Adding arrowheads to a line no longer increases its length to make room for the arrowhead.InDesign CS offers a new feature to combine paths, called the Pathfinder.InDesign CS now lets you select whether text wrap affects all text frames in a stack or just frames behind the text-wrap object.
