Moving On

You have now completed a basic panning scene. It's easy to elaborate on this project by adding additional items to the scene to pan. Panning can take on many different looks. You might try zooming into a character, as well. Select the instances you want to zoom into (probably the entire scene), and then scale the instances using the Free Transform tool. Select multiple instances by pressing the Shift key and then clicking each instance using the mouse. Insert a new keyframe, and then scale the instances larger to enlarge them.,using the Free Transform tool. Then insert a motion tween between the two keyframes so the instances appear to zoom in by scaling larger. You will also use this effect in Chapter 5 when you create a character information.

There are many other kinds of motion tweens that you can create. There is simply not enough room in this book to detail all of the different kinds of motion tween that you can create. Try experimenting further with the easing and color properties in the Property inspector. Select an instance and change the properties between two key frames, and then insert a motion tween. Try tweening brightness, alpha and colors to create interesting transitions between two states. For example, you can make instances appear to "flash" when you make a brightness tween.
