Lesson 10. Preparing the Dante Site
This lesson marks a significant turning point in the book. Until now, you've worked on the Jade Valley Web site, learning how to integrate Macromedia Fireworks, Macromedia Dreamweaver, and Macromedia Flash to create a visually appealing static Web site. In the second half of the book, you'll learn how to create sites that do something. You'll create Flash movies with sophisticated interactive interfaces. You'll harness the power of Macromedia ColdFusion to enable Web pages to interact with databases, showing live data on the fly; capture data your users enter into forms; and save the data to a database. In Lessons 15, A Component-based Flash Quiz , and Lesson 16, Flash, ColdFusion, and the Database , you'll put it all together by creating a Flash-based quiz, whose data is sent to a database. In this lesson you'll set up the Dante site and put together the home page.
