Add Motion to Photos
The Ken Burns Effect (named after the documentary filmmaker who popularized the technique) adds motion to still pictures by panning and zooming: focusing on a portion of the image and moving the camera over it. To do so, set the appearance of the first frame of the effect (the Start), and then set the last frame (the End). iMovie then calculates the frames in-between to produce the effect. For this example, I want to start zoomed in on a photo of a handsome tourist, then zoom out to reveal the Grand Canyon.
