Overview
In this chapter, we'll provide you with an overview of the mobile Web application development process. We'll systematically guide you through some simple applications built using Microsoft Visual Studio .NET and the Mobile Internet Designer (the GUI editor for mobile Web applications), and we'll introduce you to the features of Visual Studio .NET.We'll start the chapter by outlining the system requirements for development platforms and showing you how to create your first mobile Web applications. You'll then discover how to test your application with Microsoft Internet Explorer as well as with a tool that emulates a mobile device. Finally, we'll look at some of the basic design issues you'll face when developing Web applications for handheld devices.
