About the Technical Reviewers

Bruce Davie, Ph.D., has been with the IOS Technologies Division (ITD) since joining Cisco Systems in 1995 and was awarded recognition as a Cisco Fellow in 1998. He leads an architecture group that is currently working on the development of MPLS and QoS capabilities for IP networks. In addition, he is leading a cross-company effort to create a common QoS and MPLS architecture across the Cisco product line. He has more than 15 years of networking and communications industry experience. He is also an active participant in both the IETF and the Internet Research Task Force and is a senior member of the IEEE. He has a bachelor's degree in engineering from Melbourne University and a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Edinburgh.

Xavier Vinet is a network architect within IP Network Engineering at Equant, specializing in engineering and the implementation of international Equant MPLS networks. For the past eight years, he has also been involved in designing the Internet and MPLS VPN domestic networks of France Telecom. He has a telecom engineering degree.

Raymond Zhang is a senior network architect for INFONET, responsible for global IP backbone infrastructure and routing architecture planning and its evolutions. His current main areas of interest are large-scale backbone routing, traffic engineering, performance and traffic statistical analysis, MPLS-related technologies, multiservice QoS, IPv6, and multicast. He is an active member of IETF and has contributed to several drafts in the areas of MPLS TE, Inter-AS traffic engineering, and others. He has a master of engineering degree from CUNY.

Javier Achirica works in business development in the enterprise services division of Telefonica. He has been involved in the design and deployment of IP networks for ten years, in both corporations and national and international carrier IP networks in different areas of Telefonica, setting up networks in more than 12 countries. He's also active in the most relevant standardization organizations. He earned a degree in physics from the University of Valladolid in Spain and an MBA from the Instituto de Empresa in Madrid, Spain.

Patrice Bellagamba is a consulting engineer at Cisco Systems with a role as technology specialist in the usage of MPLS for large enterprises in EMEA. He has more than 22 years of experience in networking, with 13 years in IP and six years in MPLS and QoS, mainly in design and services for service providers and large enterprises. He holds an engineering degree from Supelec in France.

William Copeland has 15 years of experience in the networking industry and is currently one of the chief architects of MCI's MPLS VPN network.
