Even when the ISA firewall is not configured to detect an intrusion, it will protect you against it.
The DNS filter protects published Web servers from common buffer overflow exploits, and prevents remote users from performing a zone transfer from your published DNS servers.
You can configure the ISA firewall to allow specific IP Options when required for network diagnostics and then disable those options after the diagnostics are completed.
