Appendix C: Crystal vs. Basic Syntax

Overview

In Chapter 7, we had a look at creating formulas using both Basic Syntax and Crystal Syntax. This appendix has been put together as a handy reference for the differences between the two and provides listings of the functions and operators in each different syntax.

This list is by no means exhaustive, but hopes to provide you with some idea of the main and most-used syntax in cases where Basic and Crystal syntax differ.

Important

Remember that you cannot combine both syntaxes in a single formula, and that it is only possible to use Crystal Syntax in a record selection formula.
