Add-Ins that Help Show Presentations

Here's a quick roundup of some of the most useful add-ins on the market that extend PowerPoint's ability to present live shows.

PowerShow allows you to show multiple presentations on different monitors (http://officeone.mvps.org/powershow/powershowl).

PPT-Timer adds a real-timer to Slide Show view so you can keep an eye on how long a presentation is taking (www.tushar-mehta.com/powerpoint/index).

Randomizer randomizes the order in which slides are shown (www.tushar-mehta.com/powerpoint/randomslideshow).

Kiosk Assistant. In PowerPoint 2000, kiosk shows used to reset to the first slide after a period of inactivity. You can have that feature back in PowerPoint 2002 and 2003 with this add-in (http://officeone.mvps.org/kioskassist/kioskassistl).

ShowPlus lets you view two different shows side-by-side on a single monitor http://officeone.mvps.org/showplus/showplusl).

No Esc lets you disable the Esc key for escaping out of a presentation. Be careful with this because in Kiosk mode Esc is the only way out. Once the Esc key is disabled, you'll need to create an invisible object on the slide and set it to exit the show when clicked (www.mvps.org/skp/noesc).

SundayStar allows you to start multiple slide shows on a monitor simultaneously and switch between them with keyboard shortcuts (http://officeone.mvps.org/sundaystar/sundaystarl).

Word/Phrase Search lets you search for a word or phrase not only from Normal view but also from Slide Show view, so you don' have to leave the show to perform the search (www.mvps.org/skp/wordsearch).
