Managing multiple masters
In Chapter 2 you learned about design templates that make broad, sweeping changes to the formatting of a presentation in a few simple clicks. When you apply a different design template to a presentation, what you're really doing is changing the formatting of that presentation's masters. Masters are sets of rules that PowerPoint refers to when formatting and displaying the text from the outline. In this chapter you'll learn how slides derive their layouts and other formatting and find out how to customize the masters in your templates.
