PowerPoint comes with a set of drawing tools that create simple lines and shapes on slides. It refers to these drawn lines and shapes as AutoShapes, and provides a whole host of formatting commands and options for them. They're so much fun to create and format with that you may wish you didn't have to bother with text!
PowerPoint is wonderfully consistent in the way it handles object formatting. The bulk of what you've learned in the earlier chapters about borders, fills, and positioning will serve you well here too. In this chapter I'll review that information-in case you're not reading the book from cover to cover-and I'll also bring up some additional formatting features that are handy when working with AutoShapes.
