Difference in Managing Windows 2000 GPOs GPMC may be used to manage four different Windows 2000 scenarios:A Windows 2000 domainA Windows 2000 domain in a forest that has been upgraded to the Windows Server 2003 schema but that has no Windows Server 2003 domain controllersA Windows 2000 functional domain with at least one Windows Server 2003 domain controllerA Windows Server 2003 functional domain The following list summarizes areas where GPMC management of GPOs is different for Windows 2000 GPOs:The Group Policy Modeling node is not shown, and modeling cannot be done unless the Windows Server 2003 schema for Active Directory is available to the Windows 2000 DC. It is also necessary to have at least one Windows Server 2003 domain controller to perform group modeling.Group Policy Results can only be obtained for Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 or above computers. To use Group Policy Results, the forest must have had the Windows Server 2003 schema applied.Delegating Group Policy Modeling or Group Policy Results requires the Windows Server 2003 Active Directory schema. To use WMI filters, the Windows Server 2003 domain configuration (ADPrep/Domain Prep) must have been run.
