cluster groupA cluster group is a collection of cluster resources and is used to define the settings that make up a virtual server on a cluster. When a failover occurs on a node of the cluster, it is the cluster group that fails over to another node.
cluster resourceA cluster resource is an individual component of a cluster virtual server, such as an IP address, a network name, or a physical disk. Cluster resources are collected into groups. When a resource fails, it restarts according to a configurable policy. If a resource exceeds its restart threshold, it can force a failover of the entire group it belongs to.
virtual serverA virtual server is a configured server resource that exists through a set of software resources and settings. A virtual server is a way of mapping a collection of services and resources to physical resources and having them appear to client computers as distinct physical servers.
quorum diskThe Cluster Service uses a quorum disk to maintain the master copy of the configuration data for all server nodes in a cluster. The quorum disk in a multi-node cluster must be on a shared disk resource accessible by all members of the cluster.
