Chapter 8
Secure Videoconferencing with H.323 Gatekeeper
About This ChapterThe H.323 standard is a collection of protocols designed to allow real-time, interactive videoconferencing over simple and complex networks. Normally, it is difficult to provide H.323 service to clients behind a firewall because of the complexity and dynamic nature of H.323 connections. However, Microsoft H.323 Gatekeeper interacts with the Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2000 (ISA Server) firewall and the H.323 Filter application filter to facilitate secure videoconferencing in your network. Once your clients register with H.323 Gatekeeper, you can apply routing rules and other forms of control over videoconferencing just as you can with any network traffic.
