Click the GNOME Menu button and choose System ToolsNetwork Device Control. The Network Device Control window appears, displaying all the network interfaces you have.
Click the name of your modem (for example, Myconnection) and then click Activate. Technical Stuff If you have an Ethernet network adapter, it shows up as eth0 or eth1. You generally can ignore the Ethernet device because it probably doesn’t interfere with your modem. However, if a network device appears to cause interference with your modem, you should deactivate it in the same way as you deactivate a modem. Step 4 describes how to deactivate a device.The Network Device Control utility dials and connects to your ISP.
When you’re finished using the Internet, click the Deactivate button in the Network Device Control window. Your connection comes to an end.
