Bookmarks As you wander around the web, you'll run across web sites you really like and want to come back to. For these sites, make a Bookmark: simply press Command D while viewing the page. Once you have a bookmark, the title of that page shows up in your Bookmarks menu and you can just choose it from that menu.This is a bookmark list. Whenever I want to return to one of these pages, I choose it from the Bookmarks menu.As you make lots of bookmarks, you'll need to organize them. 1. | Go to any page that you want to be able to get to again quickly. | 2. | While viewing that page, press Command D, or go to the Bookmarks menu and choose "Add Bookmark." | 3. | A little sheet drops down and asks you to name the bookmark: The name of the web page is already selected, so just type to change the name.It also asks you where to save it: From the little pop-up menu on that sheet, choose "Bookmarks Menu." | 4. | Now go to a few other web pages, just clicking on random links. | 5. | To go to your bookmarked page, single-click on the Bookmarks menu, then slide down and choose the bookmark that you added just a minute ago. |
Put a web page link in your Dock You can put a link to a web page right in your Dock.
1. | In Safari, go to the page you want to put in the Dock. | 2. | See that tiny icon to the left of the web address in the location box? Drag that tiny icon down to the right side of the dividing line in the Dock, then let go. | 3. | You'll get one of those springy-things in the Dock. Whenever you want to go to that page, just single-click the spring. If your browser is not open, this will open it.Drag this icon and drop it in the Dock.You can also drop it on the Desktop.When you hover over the icon with the mouse, you'll see the web page name.[View full size image] |
