Stickies


Stickies is an application that displays computerized "sticky notes" that you can use to place reminders on your screen.

To launch Stickies


Double-click the Stickies icon in the Applications folder (Figure 1 ).

Click the Stickies icon in the Applications folder (Figure 1 ) to select it.

2.

Choose File > Open, or press .


The default Stickies windows appear (Figure 190 ).

Tips

    Read the text in the default Stickies windows (Figure 190 ) to learn more about Stickies.

    Sticky notes remain on the desktop until you quit Stickies.

    When you quit Stickies, all notes are automatically saved to disk and will reappear the next time you launch Stickies.

To create a sticky note



1.

Choose File > New Note (Figure 191 ) or press to display a blank new note (Figure 192 ).

2.

Type the text that you want to include in the note (Figure 193 ).

To print sticky notes



1.

To print just one sticky note, click it to activate it and then choose File > Print Active Note (Figure 191 ) or press .

or

To print all sticky notes, choose File > Print All Notes (Figure 191 ).

2.

Use the Print dialog that appears to set options for printing and click the Print button (Figure 196 ).

To close a sticky note



1.

Click the close box for the sticky note you want to close.

or

Activate the sticky note you want to close and choose File > Close (Figure 191 ) or press .

2.

A Close dialog like the one in

Figure 197 may appear.

    Don't Save closes the note without saving its contents.

    Cancel leaves the note open.

    Save displays the Export dialog (Figure 198 ), which you can use to save the note as plain or formatted text in a file on disk. Enter a name and select a disk location for the note's contents, then choose a file format and click Save.

Tip

    Once a sticky note has been saved to disk, it can be opened and edited with TextEdit or any other program capable of opening text files.
