Chapter 2: Working with Slides

Overview

In this chapter you will learn to:

Create slides and enter text.

Change the layout of a slide.

Insert slides from another presentation.

Rearrange a presentation.

Enter speaker notes.

To work efficiently with Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003, you need to know how to build a presentation by adding slides and entering text. You can add slides by using commands or simply by typing on the Outline tab of the Outline/Slides pane in Normal view. After adding a slide, you can change its layout by simply clicking a representation in the Slide Layout task pane. You can then customize the slide with your own text, using familiar word-processing techniques. After you have assembled a group of slides, you can turn your attention to their organization, and if you are planning on delivering the presentation to a live audience, you can jot down notes to guide your talk as you work, rather than waiting until the end of the development process.

In this chapter, you will enter text in a slide, create a new slide, change the slide’s layout, insert slides from another presentation, rearrange slides, and enter speaker notes.
