Chapter 6: Changing Presentation Colors

Overview

In this chapter you will learn to:

Switch to a different color scheme.

Create a color scheme.

Add colors that are not part of the scheme.

Color and shade a slide background.

Every presentation you create with Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003, even color scheme consists of eight complementary colors designed to be used for the various elements of a slide—background, text, lines, shadows, fills, and accents.

You are not limited to using the colors in a presentation’s color scheme, but because they have been selected by professional designers based on good design principles, using them does ensure that your slides will be pleasing to the eye. If you have experience working with color or have a natural talent for combining colors, you can experiment with colors and schemes until you find a combination that produces an aesthetically pleasing design.

In this chapter, you will view and choose a color scheme, change a scheme’s colors, create a new color scheme, and add additional colors. You will also add first a colored background and then a textured background to a slide.
