Kickoff Preparation
Preparing for the kickoff is like preparing for any other well-organized meeting, with advanced notice, a crisp agenda, and clear and concise presentation materials. The basic agenda focuses on SCOR, the project approach to be utilized, and the highlights of the project charter, the tasks to be undertaken. Prepare the active executive to incorporate some additional slides to put the project in a strategic business context. (See Figure 3-1 for Fowlers' project kickoff agenda.) Finally, it's a good idea to include some kind of social event. While the real big to-do should be reserved for later on, when you report results from the project, the purpose of the kickoff is to bring everyone into the team's understanding of the project and to make them feel good about the initiative.Supply Chain Project
