Voice Recordings and iTunes
Apple added support for recording voice memos when it released the iPod Software 2.1 Updater. To record these memos, you need Belkin's Voice Recorder or Griffin Technology's iTalk. After you've recorded a few voice memos, here's how to interact with them in iTunes.
1. Connect the iPod to your Mac or PC.When iTunes launches, you'll see a message that reads "The iPod YouriPod'sName contains new voice memos. Would you like to copy these voice memos to your Music Library?"2. Click Yes to copy the audio recording from the iPod to your computer.3. Click the Library button at the top of the Source window.In the main window, your recordings are titled with their creation date and time11/14/04 9:14 AM, for example.4. Click iTunes' Play button to listen to the recordings.5. To export the voice recordings, drag them out of iTunes and onto the computer's desktop.The .wav file is copied to the desktop.For more information on voice recordings, see Chapter 9.
