What's in Store? The favorable experience with Internet learning encouraged BearingPoint to continually leverage e-learning for its employees. The Learning and Development group at BearingPoint demonstrated how productivity and profitability benefits of e-learning were exponentially increased by turning what started out to be an internal project for the company into a robust solution for internal use and a new line of business.The opportunity to converge voice, video, and data in a learning application will make the learning process even more engaging for learners. Although video over IP is desired, currently the network can handle only video on demand. Bandwidth considerations have limited the adoption of live video broadcasts through IP streaming.To make learning even more relevant to the BearingPoint work force, skills enhancement should be complemented with motivation and vision. The team intends to leverage Internet learning to share top business talent within BearingPoint across all employees and consultants. Using synchronous and asynchronous web-based discussions, the team has launched a Leadership Series where C-level decision makers share best practices with consultants and employees on a regular basis. |
