Exchange, converse, correspond, and interact require two people (or more), and we could describe them as being two-way actions. The words inform, explain, declare, write, act, and instruct refer only to the speaker or writer, and we might categorize these as one-way actions. The remaining two words, listen and read, are also one-way activities.
