Once the greatest colonial empire of the world, Britain on the one hand played an important role in the creation of the United States, which was once one of its colonies, and on the other, played a key role in the establishment of Zionist regime in Palestine. The Anglo-Saxon culture is still overshadowing the American multicultural system and the international Zionism enjoys a deep, undeniable influence among the powerful and rich rulers of the United States and Britain. Without the support of the United States, the Israeli government cannot continue to live even for a day in the Middle East and in Islamic World, while the US officials cannot preserve their power without the support of the Zionist lobby. After losing its imperial and colonial power in the post-world war era, Britain has necessarily relied on the military muscle and economic stamina of the United States, continuing to defend the remnants of its colonial interests as an influential partner. In the post-September 11 era Britain announced its full support for the US measures against terrorism, particularly its military operations in Afghanistan and Iraq, shared its experience and offered facilities to the United States and most probably it will continue this policy in the near future. At the same time, if these operations continue and spill over to other countries, and in case of friction between interests of the United States and those of Britain, one cannot take it for granted that London will continue to support the US policies and accompany Washington to the finish. The main difference between the United States and Britain is that London follows a long-term policy, enjoys a deep insight in achieving its goals and does not sacrifice its long-term interests for the sake of short-term advantages. In case of any contradiction between the short-term policies of the United States and long-term policies of Britain, one cannot take it for granted that Britain will surrender to the US demands and endanger its long-term interests. On the other hand, the British support of the United States will be a psychological bolster for the US politicians, but it will not necessarily add to the strength of Washington and cannot be considered a great coalition, for the British support will neither militarily nor economically will add anything to the US strength. Indeed in all alliances Britain tries to gain maximum benefit with minimum investment. The abominated history of British colonialism not only will not add to the credit of this alliance internationally, but on the contrary due to the said history it will increase the worldwide hatred against the United States. Due to its entanglement and skirmishes in the occupied territories as well as its maltreatment of the Intifada, the Zionist regime not only is not able to assist the United States, but is such a military, economic and political burden and liability for the United States that Washington has to singly shoulder this burden in its Middle Eastern policies. The US unequivocal, all-out support of Israel has raised the hatred of the Arabs and Muslims against Washington. Israel tries to solve its own problems through capitalizing on the US proclaimed war against terrorism, virtually adding to the US problems. The Israeli attempts to incorporate the Palestinian resistant and fighting groups into the US terrorist list has created serious problems in the US relations with the Arab and Muslim countries. The US generous support of the belligerent policies of Sharon government has on the one hand led to augmentation of hatred of the Muslims and that of the world at large against the two governments and on the other the concordance between the US militaristic policies in the post-September 11 era and the Sharon government's iron fist policies has deepened the Middle Eastern crisis. Overall, through the alliance and unity among the three governments, that is, US, Britain and Israel, not only nothing has been added to the US power and capability, but it has created new challenges and hurdles for Washington which cannot be easily overlooked.
