بیشترتوضیحاتافزودن یادداشت جدید Conclusion The present study is an attempt to shed light on the features of the US policies and the scenario it has put on its agenda after the September 11, while attempts have been made to study these policies in the light of historical, political, economic and military backgrounds which propelled the United State to the present stage and position. Also attempts have been made to study and analyze the reaction of international community, particularly that of the Islamic World which was directly targeted by the US attacks, and enumerate the challenges Washington is facing now. The September 11 attacks clearly proved that the United States, as the sole superpower of the Cold War era, which has the world's strongest and most sophisticated arsenals at its disposal, could not show any reaction to the blow and could not safeguard its citizens in the face of the attacks. The US faced a new phenomenon and was not at all ready to confront it. Hence the reaction it showed was not the remedy and solution, rather it will intensify such operations. By opting for the said reaction, the US has been caught at the horn of a dilemma: it can neither move forward nor can it retreat. The objectives of the US foreign and domestic policies and the challenges its faces may be summed up as follows.
