United States Versus Islam

Ever
since the Islamic Revolution of Iran, with reliance on religious beliefs and
return to genuine Islam, achieved victory and endangered the US interests and
several times humiliated this military, economic power which enjoyed ample
political influence, and also acted as a hurdle in the way of the expansionist
policies of the Zionists, particularly when the impact of this revolution could
incurably injure Israel and great powers in South Lebanon, not only it has
become a serious source of concern for the US officials, but in effect has
compelled the US theoreticians and indeed the policymakers to find a solution.
In the beginning, they imagined that the impact of revolution would be confined
to the Lebanon and Lebanese Shias and hence would not influence the Sunnis. But
after the Persian Gulf war it practically became clear that the Islamic
awakening and return to Islam is not limited to the Shia communities, rather it
is a new phenomenon which is universal among all Muslims. In fact the movement
became an anti-arrogance and anti-Zionist struggle.

After
the September 11 events, the Bush administration pretended in a manner as if
the Islamic World had waged a war on the US under the guise of terrorism.[x] In the first place he announced
that there would be a crusade and then he pointed fingers towards the Muslims
and Islamic groups. However, his ensuing performance in military, political and
propaganda arenas proved that the militaristic policy was a preplanned policy
to change the world order to promote the role and status of the United States
as the only remaining superpower of the Cold War era.

As
explained above, the future confrontation of the Untied States with Islam and
Muslims is not foreseeable, but the following points are undeniable:

1
The US has waged a war on Islam and the Muslims and will resort to any pretext
it deems necessary to confront them.

2
The Muslims and Islamic societies have inevitably been dragged into this
full-fledged war and seemingly there is not an outlet to it.

3
It will be a prolonged war and its final result will be either the absolute
defeat of the Muslims and long-term US domination or disintegration of the
United States and prosperity of the Islamic might and splendor.

4 Approach to the current critical conditions of the world and
US militaristic policy and its all-out onslaught on the Islamic world under the
pretext of campaign against terrorism requires insight and deliberation of the
officials of the Islamic Republic to minimize the damages on the Islamic World
and on the Islamic Republic in this strange war in which an injured wolfish
enemy has waged a war on the Muslims. The officials of the Islamic Republic
should adopt calculated policies and through proper utilization of opportunities
and neutralization of challenges deal appropriate blows on it. More than ever,
the Islamic World today needs unity and solidarity in order to withstand the
United States and defend itself effectively. What is most common among the
Muslims is hatred against US bullying policies. This common feature must be
utilized as much as possible and at the same time through awareness and active
consultations the Islamic World should be awakened and encouraged to move
towards unity.
