Exporting Layers as Files

ImageReady and now Photoshop () give you the option of exporting and saving layers as individual files using a variety of formats. With ImageReady the formats include PSD, JPEG, GIF, WBMP, PNG, and even SWF. When exporting a layer as a file, different format settings can be assigned to individual layers, or one format can be applied to all exported layers. The Export Layers As Files option gives you the ability to create Web graphics and then select individual layers to save in a variety of formats.

Export Layers as Files

Open a document in ImageReady.

Select the

Layers palette.

Select the layer you want to export.

Click the

File menu, point to

Export , and then click

Layers As Files .

Click the

Export list arrow, and then click

Selected Layers or

All Layers .

Click the

Format list arrow, and then select an output option.

Click

OK .

). Click the File menu, point to Scripts, and then click Export Layers To Files. In the dialog box, click Browse to specify a destination for the files, enter a name for the files, select the Visible Layers Only check box to export only visible layers, click the File Type list arrow, select a file format (PSD, BMP, JPEG, PDF, Targa, and TIFF), select the Include ICC Profile check box to embed a color profile, and then click Run.
