Software or hardware system that uses two or more disk drives at the same time to improve fault tolerance and performance.
receipt
A bundle that acts as a record of what was installed by the Mac OS X Installer. The receipts are stored in /Library/Receipts.
root (user)
Short name for System Administrator. Root has read and write permissions to all areas of the file system.
