You can edit regular text either on the Stage or in the Text window, regardless of where it was created. Similarly, you can edit field text either on the Stage or in the Field window, regardless of where it was created.
You can convert either type of text to bitmapped text if you decide belatedly that you'd like to rotate it or add effects.
Click the Arrow tool in the Tool palette (Figure 12.16).
On the Stage, double-click the text sprite that you want to edit.
A rectangle appears around the text, and a flashing insertion point appears inside.
Edit the text.
When you're finished, click anywhere on the Stage outside the rectangle.
Any changes you make to a text sprite affect the original text cast member and all other sprites based on the same text cast member.
If you double-click bitmapped text on the Stage, Director will open it in the Paint window, just as it would any bitmapped image.
In the Cast window, double-click a text cast member.
Depending on which kind of cast member it is, the Text or Field window opens, displaying the text.
Edit the text.
The changes you make take effect immediately; you don't have to do anything special to make them "stick."
Select a text cast member in the Cast window.
Choose Modify > Convert to Bitmap.
The text becomes a bitmapped image (Figure 12.17).
