In this chapter we discuss different types of data and variables that store data.

Data, simply put, is anything and everything you want it to be, including text, numbers, and logical representations (known as Boolean data). In its most raw form (binary code), data is represented as a bunch of zeros and ones, which comprise the basic data computers use as their primitive language. For instance, this next excerpt is the binary translation of "Flash Professional 8":
