It may not be high-tech, but I find it essential to make a quick outline of the movie's high points to use as a road map.
I also spend some time renaming significant clips to help identify them while editing.
Click once on the clip's name to edit.
Highlight the current name.
Type a new name, and press Return.
1. | Click the Clip Viewer button to display that mode of the timeline. |
2. | Drag one or more clips from the Shelf to the Clip Viewer. Congratulations, you've just made a (rough) movie! |
3. | Continue to drag the clips you want to use into the timeline. Don't worry about the order that they're inyour goal at this point is to put together a rough assembly of the raw materials you'll be working with. Any clip added to the timeline becomes part of your movie. |
