eMbedded Visual Basic®: Windows® CE and Pocket PC Mobile Applications

By Chris Tacke, Timothy Bassett

Table of ContentsChapter 1. An Introduction to Windows CE

Summary

We've briefly covered all the devices you're likely to see in use today, and installed eVB and the Pocket PC SDK. We also looked at some of the differences between the eVB IDE and Visual Basic 6's IDE, and even looked at a couple of handy Windows CE tools.

We've only begun to scratch the surface of the Pocket PC development world, but you're almost ready to dive in. While I'm sure you're itching to start coding, I strongly suggest that before you do you take the time to read through Chapter 2, "Introducing eMbedded Visual Basic," which explains in more detail the differences between eVB and Visual Basic 6. Knowing the differences will save you some time (and headaches) when coding and debugging.
