Install your scanner or camera.

The first step to using a scanner or camera is installing it on your computer.

Configure your scanner or camera.

You might need to configure your scanner or camera, depending on the type you are using. If you have an automatically detected Plug and Play scanner or camera, such as one that uses a USB connection, you might not need to configure your device. However, if you have a manually detected Plug and Play scanner or camera, a scanner that provides pushbutton scanning, or a camera that uses IrTran-P, you might need to configure the device further.
