This deprecated class was used in
Java 1.1 to represent an entity or Principal that
has an associated PrivateKey that enables it to
create digital signatures. As of Java 1.2, this class and the related
Identity and IdentityScope
classes have been replaced by KeyStore and
java.security.cert.Certificate. See also
