New Trust Features in Windows Server 2003
Windows Server 2003 offers the following trust-related features: A new trust wizard. Both sides of the trust can be created in one operation. You must have credentials from both parties in the proposed trust relationship. Incoming Forest Trust builders. A new group that can create inbound forest trusts. There are no members in this group by default. Trust over firewalls is possible using a reduced number of ports. Users can now use the User Principal Name (UPD) format (user@usersdomain.com) for authentication even when logging on from another forest. Trusts enable the use of Microsoft Identity Integration Server services to synchronize data such as global address and public folders, directory objects, PKI certificates, and Certificate Revocation Lists (CRLs).
