The Mac application for email is called Mail. As you'd expect, with Mail you can write email messages, send messages, and receive messagesthat's what this chapter covers. Mail actually goes way beyond those basic functions; it has many useful tools for organizing, formatting, searching, and filtering email. But to keep this book "little," I had to put the more detailed information about the other features (more than 640 pages) into Cool Mac Apps, second edition. This chapter, however, will get you sending and receiving email and attachments.Chapter 9, and you must already have an email account with someone. The Address Book is a separate application that works in conjunction with Mail. You can save your favorite email addresses, make a group list to send a message to a number of people at once, enter an address in a new message with the click of the mouse, and more. |
