Once you've assembled a first draft of an edited sequence, known as a rough cut (isn't that a great expression?), you'll probably want to go back and

trim (fine-tune) your edits. Final Cut Express's edit trimming tools and techniques are outlined in Chapter 11, "Fine Cut: Trimming Edits."
