You can add more fields to individual cards or to all the cards at once, and delete ones you don't use. This is different from clicking the + or buttons on a card; this technique adds new fields, not new versions of an existing field.
1. | Select the card and click its Edit button. |
2. | From the Card menu, slide down to "Add Field," then choose the field you want to add. |
Once you have a Birthday field in Address Book, go to the iCal preferences and choose to "Show Birthdays calendar." All birthdays that have been noted in your Address Book will be automatically added as events in iCal. |

To delete a field from all cards, click its red minus button.
