Programs aren't the only items you can pin to the left side of the Start menu. You can place a shortcut to a folder on the Start menu.
You can drag a folder from the Desktop, from a window, or from a hierarchical menu in the Start menu. Here, you're going to drag your folder from Windows Explorer.
