Exiting Programs

When you finish using a program, you should exit (or quit or close) it to get it out of your way and to let Windows reclaim its memory for other use.

To exit a program:

Choose File > Exit (Figure 6.13 ).

Figure 6.13. Pressing Alt+F4 is quicker than choosing File > Exit.

or

Press Alt+F4.

or

Click the program's Close button ().

or

Double-click its control-menu icon (at the left end of the title bar).

or

Right-click its taskbar button; then click Close.

or

Activate the program's window; press Alt+spacebar; then press C.
