Getting It Out
Photoshop is the best all-around tool we've encountered for working with images, massaging images, and targeting images for specific output devices. However, page-layout programs such as InDesign and QuarkXPress excel at integrating text and graphics into complete pages. If you keep that distinction clear, you'll use Photoshop to do everything that needs to be done to your images, and give the page-layout program an image file that it can simply pass on to the output device. Your work will proceed more smoothly, and you (or your service bureau) will encounter fewer unpleasant surprises. Sometimes it's nice when life is boring....
