Another reason for the astonishing impact of the Islamic nature of the revolution is the resistance of the revolution and continuation of victory against multitude of hostilities and animosities. If the revolution had not relied on Islam and the divine faith, it would have definitely failed against all varied complicated animosities and hostilities or at least Islam had turned into an American brand, "American Islam" which exist in most parts of the world and no one is hostile to it.
"Despite all oppositions since the early days of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, till date, the Revolution, the Islamic Republic and the Iranian nation have overcome various forms of their enemies and defeated them. The government, system and the nation with whom all lowly, dastardly, dirty strong powers are hostile, who have money, power and weapon, as well as propaganda machinery, radio and newspapers, lackeys, mercenaries, intelligence and information systems, hatch plots, prepare the grounds for engineering coup, support the enemies, but cannot shake this revolution and this republic. This is itself one of the divine signs and an indication of the righteousness of you the revolutionary nation. In the beginning, they did not think that they could not defeat us; but they could not. They frequently made promises, saying the Islamic Republic will collapse after six months. But later they realized that it was not possible, they increased the period, saying, it would be defeated after another year. But once again when they realized that it was not possible, they increased the period, saying after another two years; another five years! The power of the Iranian nation forced the enemies to withdraw their words, postponing the issue to an indefinite time. They said the Islamic Republic would collapse after the departure of Imam. Our honorable Imam left for his heavenly abode, but as every moment of the life of that honorable personality was a source of strength during the revolution, due to that great spirituality and popularity, the departure of that honorable man strengthened both Islam and the Revolution Thanks to Allah, the revolution becomes steadier every day; the Islamic Republic stronger, and the Iranian nation more resistant; they will become stronger.
I would like to submit to the honorable courageous nation that you should know that the enemy can not defeat this revolution and this nation. So long as the nation is present in the scene and feels responsible, so long as the nation holds fast to Islam and the Quran, so long as the unity of word rules supreme among the nation, the enemy will not have any other fate than failure and disappointment. You have disappointed the enemy."[49]
