Ladies and gentlemen, Welcome to the conference on religion and dialogue among civilisations. Our guest speaker is Professor Sayeed Hossein Nasr. He received his early education in Iran and completed his studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University. His is one of the best students of Ayatalloh Tabatai and is the author of over 300 articles and 30 books. He has taught at a number of universities in the Middle East, especially Tehran University and in the USA. He has also lectured widely on Islamic philosophy. Professor Nasr is currently a university professor of Islamic studies at the George Washington University. I hope that the message of this conference will be justice, freedom, equality, law and spirituality for all citizens of global human society. Finally I ask Professor Nasr to present his lecture.
