Working with Diagram Text
A diagram is basically just a group of text boxes, lines, and AutoShapes that have been grouped together in a special way. That means you can enter and edit text in its text boxes the same as you would anywhere else.Click in any text box and type/edit. You can also select and format the text using regular text-formatting techniques such as changing the font, size, color, attributes, and alignment.Note | You do not need to manually insert text boxes in a diagram. When you insert new shapes (explained a bit later in the chapter), new text boxes are also inserted. For example, suppose you are creating a cycle diagram like the one shown in Figure 10-1. If you insert a new arrow AutoShape, a new text box appears too so that the ratio of text boxes to shapes remains 1:1. And with other diagram types the text actually appears within the AutoShape, so having a separate text box is not an issue. |
