The Classic n-tier
No discussion of application architecture is complete without mentioning the classic n-tier. The "n" stands for any number, as in three-tier, four-tier, or whatever is applicable to the application we're building. The number of tiers, or layers, in your application is dictated by the requirements and structure of your application pieces.Chapter 6, "The Nuts and Bolts of IIS and Web Applications," but for now, try to think about application architecture in a more abstract sense.
