Single-photo pages look nice; the image is a good size. Still, you can increase the impact of some images by enlarging them. You can even make them so large, they run off the edge of the page, a technique called bleeding the image.

Some of the image will be trimmed at the edge and top.

Enlarging a photo this much creates a nice effect, making the image more dynamic, but leaving lots of white space for text.

To bleed the image all across the top, drag the lower-right handle down, to the right, and onto the gray area.

It's usually best to delete the header when you push a photo to the top of the page. Double-click the header.

In the finished page the photo bleeds off the top and sides. All the crucial parts of the image fall inside the area bounded by the default header, footer, and page number. Whatever happens during trimming, this photo should still look OK.
